Our Story

What we're all about and who are we?

Yes, we’re from the UK and yes, we only recruit in the US...Strange isn’t it! 

Well, we all started recruiting for automotive businesses in the UK and we saw in the US market, there was a real shortage of good talent, so we decided to replicate what we had learnt across the US. 

We specialize in finding world-class automotive talent and matching them with some of the biggest and best groups across the US. We partner with our candidates and clients alike, so this isn’t a company where we’re going to sling resumes. We provide a full service, right from the first phone call through to the candidates first 3 months and beyond.

Ben Cooper

What got you into recruitment?

I had always been around recruitment as my dad used to have a recruitment agency when I was growing up. After University, I went travelling, ended up in New Zealand in Sales role, so when I go home I thought the best way to combine my experience and knowledge was to try my hand at recruitment. The rest as they say is history!

What state/specialisms do you cover?

As the Managing Director of the Business, I oversee all operations from staffing to sales and subscriptions. That said, as we’ve launched our subscription service in 2024, my main aim has been developing and growing relationships so that we can partner Dealer Groups over several years to give a ‘best in class’ recruitment service.

What separates you from the crowd?

I’ve spent over 10 years working on International recruitment, spanning from Europe, the Middle East and the US. I think learning and understanding different cultures and what drives people, really gives me the edge when finding out what it is that my clients and candidates truly need.

Tell us about yourself

I’ve recently become a father to a lovely little girl called Éabha (Irish spelling of Ava), so I am muddling my way through parenthood day by day. With less time on my hands, I still love to squeeze in a round of golf, or go and watch my local soccer team AFC Bournemouth tackle the Premier League. I also love to continually learn, having finished my MBA, I will be looking at embarking on my DBA in the next few years, with a study on recruitment and staffing trends. 

What's a funny fact about you?

I love to make people laugh, especially when I have had a drink. So, a couple of times, I thought I’d try my hand at getting on stage in front of a crowd and trying some stand-up comedy. Let’s just say, I’ll stick to trying to make my friends and colleagues laugh from now on.

Ross Goode

What got you into recruitment?

After working within various Sales based roles, I stumbled upon recruitment purely by accident after being asked to consider a position within an agency. 

What state/specialisms do you cover?

I operate in both New York and New Jersey, encompassing a range of automotive enterprises, including dealerships and collision centers.

What separates you from the crowd?

Being an extremely sociable and outgoing individual, my knack for establishing and maintaining business relationships has earned me recognition in the appropriate circles and for the right reasons.

Tell us about yourself

I am a husband and father to 3 amazing children. I love sport, especially Soccer and watch as much as I can – mainly with my son who (like me) is a fan of Arsenal F.C. 

Outside work, I coach my sons Soccer team and spend as much time as I can with him, my wife, two daughters and our French Bulldog, Frank.

In addition to my family life, I also engage in work as an MC, host, and presenter, involved in various events, with a focus on sports. Notably, I serve as the match-day host for the English Premier League team, AFC Bournemouth.

What's a funny fact about you?

Continuing on the sport theme, my cousin was a professional Snooker player – once ranked 56th in the world and my great uncle played for AFC Bournemouth, Port Vale & Chelsea. 

Joss Holford

What got you into recruitment?

After spending the majority of my professional life immersed in sales jobs where I marketed various products and services, I made a career shift to enter the recruitment industry in 2017. During a year spent in Australia travelling and planning my future, I recognized the potential for a fulfilling and lasting career by combining my expertise in sales and ability to build relationships. 

What states do you cover? 

MD, VA, NC 

What separates you from the crowd? 

Most recruiters are here to make a quick buck. What separates me and our business from others is our reliability and ability to build long term relationships/ partnerships with our clients. Ensuring that we listen to their needs and create a recruitment service around them. 

Tell us about yourself

Outside of work I keep myself active either in the gym or on the soccer field. I have a son who consumes a lot of my time when I leave the office, so if I’m not entertaining him, or kicking a ball around, you’ll probably find me doing chores around the house my partner has set me!   

What's a funny fact about you? 

My favourite food chain is Chick-fil-A.

Amber Armstrong

What got you into recruitment?

My background has been in Wedding Planning and PA work. Whilst working as a PA, I was sat in an office next to the TeamAutomotive team and after hearing them on the phones and their visions for the future, I knew I wanted to get into recruitment. 

What state/specialism do you cover?

I am the account manager for a subscription client and cover recruitment in New Hampshire. 

What separates you from the crowd?

My tenacity. I will always go after the best candidates and not take no for an answer before I am able to explain the opportunity in detail. (They never regret hearing about the amazing opportunities we have!)

Tell us about yourself

When not at work, you’ll find me on the netball court playing as an attacker in my local netball league. I am also a keen Liverpool Football Club supporter and even though it’s around a 4 hour drive, I always go to as many home games as I can to support the reds!

What's a funny fact about you?

If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life it would be cheese!

Ellie Hargreaves

What got you into recruitment?

I’ve always thrived in a sales environment and I love interacting with new people.  I have worked within the automotive industry for the last 7 years and wanted to try something new where I can help people. I enjoy the challenges that you face with recruitment and how every day is different. 

What state/specialism do you cover?

Florida, Georgia and Alabama 

What separates you from the crowd?

I have industry knowledge as I have previously worked at a dealership for 4 years. I understand what it takes to work in the automotive industry and what attracts people to certain roles. I can relate to people and want to make sure they find exactly what the are looking for. 

Tell us about yourself

Outside of work I love to socialise with friends and family. I have 3 dogs; Leroy the labradoodle and Indie and Winnie both English bulldogs. They keep me very busy! 

I am a foodie and enjoy going out for dinner. My favourite dish would have to be a roast dinner.

I do a great Britney Spears impression!

Tom Blair

What got you into recruitment?

I have always enjoyed meeting new people and working towards a common goal. As I enjoy my job, I have a genuine desire to assist job seekers in finding their ideal career match. I knew that my communication skills and positive attitude could help my candidates achieve their goals. In addition, I see a lot of opportunity to advance in this and work with like-minded individuals. When I told my family and friends, they suggested I go into recruitment. That's when I looked online for recruitment roles and applied for a job at TeamAutomotive.

I cover all roles in dealerships across Ohio, Indiana and Michigan.

What separates you from the crowd?

With an innate passion for automotive excellence, I am the recruitment consultant who drives success by connecting exceptional individuals with the needs of the automotive industry.

I have played professional soccer in the UK. I am a keen golfer and have a handicap of 10. I love to try new restaurants and cuisines with my partner and travel the world.
