Responsibilities 

  • Examine damaged vehicles and estimate repair costs

  • Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window-and-seat-operating equipment, and trim to gain access to vehicle body and fenders

  • Fill depressions with body filler

  • Remove damaged fenders and panels

  • Bolt or weld replacement parts in position, using wrenches or welding equipment

  • Straighten bent automobile frames

  • File, grind and sand repaired surfaces

  • Refinish repaired surface

  • Aim headlights, align wheels, and bleed hydraulic brake system

  • Paint surfaces after performing body repairs

  • Repair or replace defective mechanical parts

  • Jobs assigned according to qualifications.

Qualifications

A highly experienced auto body repair specialist who takes extreme pride in his/her quality of work. You must deliver a premium experience to our clientele while maintaining a high quality and performance-oriented environment. You will be measured by achieving 100% or greater hour efficiency; delivering the highest quality body shop repairs without comebacks; and by maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction. You must have experience in a continuous improvement process/procedure-oriented shop environment. And we're looking for employees with the talents and skills to take us even further. 

You will: 

  • Complete dis-assembly of vehicle in order to assist estimator with preparing a 100% repair plan 
  • Ensure all needed repairs identified to eliminate supplements and minimize repair time 
  • Inspect and test drive repaired vehicles to check for compliance and safety and quality standards 
  • Must be present during normal business hours of operation or as directed by management 
  • Ensure that customer cars are kept clean, keep personal work area neat and clean, and be able to account for all Collison Center tools at all times   
  • Must adhere to all company policies and Collision Center rules 
  • Must adhere to personal protective equipment rules as needed 
  • Immediately communicate with body shop manager if additional work is needed; if work outlines is not needed; and/or if repairs cannot be completed in the promised time 
  • Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order, with proper flag sheets, technician notes, etc. 
  • Participate in Paint Company, ICAR, ASE, or other training programs, certifications, schools, and events. Expect to be certified within a year 
  • Perform daily cleaning of all body shop areas prior to leaving for the day 
  • Maintain dealership-owned tools and manuals in good working order and assume accountability for those tools; return all tools/manuals to their proper place after use 
  • Understand, stay abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. 
  • Assist fellow technicians in the learning process and act as a mentor to new technicians by illustrating best practices and by embracing/promoting quality repairs. And we're looking for employees with the talents and skills to take us even further
  • Work performed in an office and shop settings due to location of customer vehicles. Exposure to shop environment such as noise, dust, odors and fumes, chemicals and adhesives. 
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 100 lbs. 
  • Comply with other job-related instructions and perform any other duties that, in the opinion of your supervisor, are reasonably related to your job responsibilities, required to assist other employees
